The Hadal Zone is deeper than Mount Everest is tall.

If you flipped Everest upside down, its peak would still be over a mile above the bottom of the Mariana Trench. This zone begins at 6,000 meters and descends to nearly 11,000 meters.

"The Challenger Deep reaches approximately 36,070 feet below sea level."

This immense distance creates a world completely severed from the surface atmosphere.
